Joslyn Hicks

Joslyn Diggs Hicks, born on August 15, 1950, in West Virginia, passed away on February 17,2026 surrounded by love and family. She was the daughter of Charley and Ethel Diggs and the fifth of six siblings: Margaret (John) Kemp, Thomas, Norma, Bobby, and Rose.

After moving to Brooklyn, Joslyn attended Franklin K. Lane High School, where she met her future husband, Bobby Joe Hicks. Their marriage was a testament to lifelong partnership, faith, and dedication. Together, they raised their children—Jennifer (Stanley) Umbles, Michele (Wilfredo) Mendoza, Timothy.

Joslyn worked at Central Park West and later served as a receptionist and assistant teacher at Blueberry Elementary School, where she was admired for her kindness and patience.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charley and Ethel Diggs ,her husband Bobby, daughter Michele, and grandchildren Tanasia and Timothy Jordan.

Joslyn’s greatest joy came from her role as “Momo” to her grandchildren: Xavier, Tianasia, Dominique, Davon, Elijah, Timothy Jordan, Daniel, Genevee, and Noah, her great grandchildren Jayce, Kharie, and Amaya Umbles. She cared for many others as her own, filling their lives with love, guidance, and comfort.
Her life was defined by resilience, generosity, and deep love. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to live brightly in the hearts of all who knew her.

Funeral Services will take place on Saturday February 28, 2026 at 1PM in the Funeral Home.  Viewing begins at 11AM.
